In its offer, Xiaomi already has two night lights that were created by Yeelight. My review of the second generation of lights (which has Wi-Fi) you can read here. Three months ago, Xiaomi presented the next night lamp - this time Philips is responsible for the product. Occurs under the name Xiaomi PHILIPS Zhirui Smart Bedside Lamp. She has already reached me and we will look at a new proposal from Xiaomi for the bedside table.
Xiaomi PHILIPS Zhirui Smart Bedside Lamp
The lamp arrives in a white cardboard box, the focus will be visualization of the product on the front and the large Philips logo. The product is well protected during the journey. Both from the bottom and from the top there are cartons with a cylindrical cut-out for the lamp, so that it does not bounce off the walls of the cardboard. The top element can be seen in the last picture and the power supply is hidden in it.
Philips Zhirui lamp must be powered by 5V, and this is good news. For power supply you can use powerbank or any other device that has 5V and 2A on the output. Together with the lamp I received a power supply and adapter to connect to the Polish outlet.
The difference between the Philips product and the Yeelight lamp that I've owned so far is the built-in microphone. It is located at the bottom, on the opposite side there is a USB-C socket for connecting the power supply.
The casing is made of plastic that resembles glass. It has only one button that is on top, has several functions. A single click turns the lamp on / off. Longer hold switches on the music mode, what is it? the lamp changes color to the rhythm of the music. This functionality was already before, but the Yeelight lamp does not have a microphone and used a microphone from the smartphone. The Philips product has a huge advantage in this matter. There is one more functionality, if we hold the button and we will rotate the plastic dome around, the color of light will change.
Xiaomi Philips Zhirui Smart Bedside Lamp connects to the Mi Home application via Wi-Fi. It has a BLE Gateway and can act as a central unit for another device that supports this functionality. In the Xiaomi ecosystem, it is eg a temperature and humidity sensor.
Clicks on screenshots from the application.
Ready-made scenes are available, switching on and off the lights based on the Mi Band. If we approach the wristband, the light will turn on when it goes to the appropriate distance, it will automatically turn off. There are several functions, a full test of the Philips lamp per week. I bought in the store Gearbest
